Getting here
We are the blob on the photo and the map below. In the photo you can see the Craignish peninsula and Ardfern Yacht Centre in the foreground and the islands of (from left to right) Jura, Scarba, Luing, Shuna and (on the horizon on the right) Mull, with Iona just invisible. You can sea the four accessible (and swimmable) hill lochs and forestry on the backbone of the peninsula.
Type 'Go Native Ardfern' into Google Maps and it will give you directions on how to get here. It generally works very well, but sometimes recommends driving down the east side of Loch Awe if you are coming from the direction of Edinburgh - ignore this unless you fancy an hour of single-track windy road - it's a beautiful road but you're better coming down through Oban!
Once you get to Ardfern, go through the village, a hundred yards past the pub and then turn sharp right at the Scottish Water and arrow signs just before the church. We're about half a mile up a rough track. Keep following the arrow signs and look out for the big wooden house and the roundhouse.
