The Yurt

To book go to: https://airbnb.com/h/ardfernyurt
Our Mongolian yurt is in its own little world of ash, rowan, willow and irises by the side of a burn with views to the village of Ardfern and Loch Craignish. It’s the perfect place to unwind surrounded by nature.

Imported from Ulan Batur in Mongolia, the yurt is a work of art, with hand-painted doors, crown and poles. There is a central wood-burning stove, a small kitchenette, a central seating area and proper beds for 4 people (one double and two singles). There is one double plug point powered by a solar array further up the hill.

The yurt is built on its own deck with a large veranda and bench at the front. If you feel like cooking or eating outside there is a large fire pit and a picnic table. Just bring a towel, toiletries and bedding, everything else is taken care of. Cooking utensils, plates and cutlery are all provided, as well as a selection of games.  A starter pack of kindling and firewood is included and we are happy to provide more. There is access to mains water a two-minute walk away as well as toilets and a shower. There is parking for your car up a short path a few yards from the yurt.

The yurt is the perfect spot for exploring the area by car, by bike or on foot. The area is full of wonderful walks, particularly along the coast where you may be lucky enough to see otters.  There is wildlife all around. Owls live in the beech trees up the hill and you will hear them hunting at night. You will see pipistrelle bats fluttering in and out of the trees as the sun goes down. You are very likely to spot roe deer grazing if you are up early enough, and if you’re lucky you might even see a Sea Eagle hovering above.

We are open from April to end September every year.
"Just wanted to thank you and Rory for our magical yurt experience. It was Cara´s first camping adventure and she loved it, so did we.  Although the weather was not on our side, the yurt was super comfortable and really fun." Julie

"The yurt was perfect- perfectly out of the way, but close to your facilities. They were extremely comfortable, and the surroundings are simply gorgeous. What a beautiful part of the country!" Fraser & family
